The Foundation is proud and privileged to announce the appointment of Roberta Annan in the role of Executive Director, Green Planet Foundation Ghana.

The Board of the Foundation embrace with conviction the skill, knowledge and experience that Roberta provides, in order to successfully realize the Foundation’s outcomes, defined by its Constitution and cause.

Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Roberta has lived and worked on four continents. She has worked tirelessly to address many societal issues, such as, education; women empowerment and poverty reduction in the context of the Millennium Development Goals and the current Sustainable Development Goals, pronounced by the United Nations.

Roberta has founded businesses including Roberta Annan Consulting and Frallain, a charity supporting the empowerment of women within the textile and fashion industry. Roberta is a Senior Advisor at the LJ Partnership, United Kingdom, and a founding partner of LJ Africa Advisors. Roberta is spearheading LJ Partnership’s strategy to deliver financial services and client solutions across Sub Saharan Africa.

Prior to joining LJ Partnership, Roberta worked for the United Nations where she raised funds and established formidable relationships with prominent individuals, government officials, and HNWI’s. While at the UN, Roberta worked in various capacities within different initiatives such as the South-South News, United Nation Development Program (UNDP) – Community and Adaptation Learning Mechanism, United Nations Global Alliance for ICT and Development (UN-GAID).

Roberta holds a Masters degree (summa cum laude) in Biotechnology from Georgetown University and received a Bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. More recently she enrolled in the Program For Leadership Development at the Harvard Business School.

Roberta Annan is the CEO and Founder of Roberta Annan Consulting LLC (RAC). Roberta is also a Development Consultant with expertise in Business Development and Fundraising. She aligns investors with government entities and key strategic stakeholders to encourage the ease of doing business in Africa. 

At RAC, Roberta has been responsible for the expansion of several multinational corporations and small to medium-sized enterprises into Africa and the establishment of foundations for several HNWIs. She has worked on projects valued at $6 million to $200 million. Her work spans across numerous industries from fashion to aviation where she has made a significant contribution. She was instrumental in winning the $25 million grant for Africa 2.0 and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration to set up the Regional Leadership Center for the Obama Young African Leaders Initiative. Some of her past clients includes President Obasanjo, VistaJet, BNP Baripas, Jordanian Government, EnviroBoard, Vogue Italia, Miss Universe Organizations, StorAfrica Group. Her affinity for fashion in Africa has served as a catalyst for her to create a non-profit organization that is focused on expanding the global footprint of African luxury and premium brands- Frallain, Inc.

She also serves as an advisor for several organizations such as VistaJet, Invest Africa Club, Nexus Africa, Africa 2.0 and Global Luxury Fund. She has been a recipient of several leadership awards and is part of Young Leader Circle from Africa for Milken Institute.

Roberta Annan, an international impact investor, global development consultant and philanthropist, is committed to catalyse the realization of the Foundation’s energy poverty and air quality outcomes in Africa.
